Rohit Shetty’s has an upcoming movie Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar. As an announcement of his next project it showcased at the end of his Blockbuster SIMMBA, starring Ranveer Singh.
Albeit the rumours about Sooryavanshi being a remake of the cop-drama Tamil movie Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru and Rohit Shetty buying the film rights from its producer S. R. Prakashbabu and S. R. Prabhu whereas a paid Indian film critic and journalist, Taran Adarsh has tweeted,
Rohit Shetty clarifies: News that Rohit Shetty has bought rights of a #Tamil film for #Sooryavanshi is untrue and baseless… Akshay Kumar starrer #Sooryavanshi, produced and directed by Rohit Shetty, is an original story and not inspired from any film, the statement reads.

The tweet clearly states from the renowned of a name that the new film is original from its roots and nothing to do with the rumours that surround it.
Besides Shetty’s previous projects with recurring south Indian masala in Singham, Singham returns, Chennai Express, has been marked as remakes or copy of several South Indian movies. His latest, Simmba is the official remake of the south Indian film Temper. Therefore the news cannot have its credibility to be true for sure and one cannot see it as original and fresh.
This movie is Rohit Shetty’s and the star Akshay Kumar’s first project together. And they need to step up and give a word about what is the true story.
All we can do is wait for the Director himself to showcase, on the big screen, his “original work” . Whether it might work on the big screen is going to be a mystery until it’s release. Whether it might work on the big screen is going to be a mystery until it’s release.
